The Advantages of Electronic Marketing

YOUR Business Opportunity on the Internet

The revolutionary business opportunities that are taking off on the Internet were never even imagined by the people who created it. The Internet was developed in the late 1960s to facilitate government sponsored research projects and was regarded as a fail-safe communication system in the event of nuclear warfare. The Internet was used exclusively by the military and major universities to exchange data and share facilities.

As the benefits of the Internet became popular, technical advances made it easier to use. More people came online and traditional industries began to offer products and services on the Internet. The World Wide Web affords color, sound and graphics. User interface software such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, which simplifies navigating, are two of the Internet's most dramatic milestones. The World Wide Web is now the most dynamic area on the Internet, and the thrust of our business.

The Internet's Major Feature is the World Wide Web

The World Wide Web is undoubtedly the fastest growing feature of the Internet. The World Wide Web is a network hypermedia system that enables you to access text, graphics, sound, and even video. This system is based on interconnected hypermedia documents and home pages situated on millions of computers around the globe. If it's a showcase to the world that you want, the WWW is for you.

A Huge Market that is Still Growing

Never before has there been a marketplace with the potential of the Internet. This huge interconnected web of thousands of computer networks around the globe is rapidly being recognized as the most exciting commercial opportunity in history. Barely a day goes by without headlines announcing more and more industry leaders entering the Internet arena. Organizations that establish an early presence on the Internet will be poised to gain the most in this exploding international marketplace as it matures and develops.

Today, the Internet connects over 30 million users in more than 200 countries, with more than 3 million new users jumping on every month to take advantage of its enormous global communication, information, and exciting new shopping capabilities. The famous "Information Super Highway" is also becoming the "Super Shopping Highway." Industry experts predicted the Internet population will exceed 300 million by the year 2,000. And it did. More than just huge numbers, this is select global market of educated, successful, and highly motivated users who can interact with your firm for sales, promotion, research, and communication capabilities unrivaled in history. By any measure, it is a market you cannot afford to ignore. The Internet belongs in your marketing plan.

Availability of YOUR Business Information

Think of a Yellow Pages ad. Now think of your basic business information, your business hours, what you do, how someone contacts you, the methods of payment that you take, and where are you located. Now think of a Yellow Pages ad where you have instant communication with potential customers in reference to your business hours, what you do, being contacted, the methods of payment that you take, your location and next week’s important information. If you could keep your customer informed of every reason why they should do business with you, don’t you think you could do more business? You can on the World Wide Web.

Releasing of Time Sensitive Materials

What if your materials need to be released no earlier than midnight? Do you need to release the quarterly earnings statement, the grand prize winner, the press kit for the much-anticipated film, or the merger news in a timely manner? Well, you just sent out the materials to the press with instructions on the time of release and hope for the best. Now the information can be made available at midnight or any time you specify, with all related materials such as photographs, bios, etc. released at exactly the same time. Imagine the anticipation of making all materials available at 12:01 AM. You can, inexpensively on the World Wide Web.

Quick & Easy Changing of Information

Sometimes, information changes before it gets off the press. Now you have a pile of expensive, worthless paper. Electronic publishing changes with your needs. No paper, no ink, no printer bills. You can even attach your WebPages to a database, which customizes the page output to a database that you can change as many times in a day as you need. No printed piece can match that flexibility.

Growing YOUR Business While You Sleep

Websites are the canvas for electronic marketing. Their design and development stimulated fierce competition and hence "better" presentations of products and services overall. Electronic marketing today is just as good or "better" than conventional "mechanical" marketing. How many restaurants, clubs, gas stations, etc., use both methods? You'd be surprised! Besides, that's not really the issue. The issue is presentation and accessibility at the best possible price. Just imagine waking up, accessing your email, and collecting the orders that came in while you were sleeping! That's today's electronic marketing. Electronic marketing through effective and efficient web design allows you to get more sales of your products and services. Thank you for contacting Platinimbus.com for your free electronic marketing evaluation and Website proposal.

World Wide Web Generic Domains

Generic Top Level Domains-
We will order the domain name for you at a discounted rate. Click here.

.COM - This domain is intended for commercial entities, i.e. companies. This domain has grown very large and there is concern about the administrative load and system performance if the current growth pattern is continued. Consideration is being taken to subdivide the COM domain and only allow future commercial registrations in the sub domains.

.EDU - This domain was originally intended for all educational institutions. Many universities, colleges, schools, educational service organizations, and educational consortia have registered here. It is limited to 4-year colleges and universities. Schools and 2-year colleges are registered in the country domains (see US Domain, especially K12 and CC, below).

.NET - This domain is intended to hold only the computers of network providers, which are the NIC and NOC computers, the administrative computers, and the network node computers. The customers of the network provider would have domain names of their own (not in the NET Top Level Domain).

.ORG - This domain is intended as the miscellaneous TLD for organizations that didn't fit anywhere else. Some non-government organizations may fit here.

.INT - This domain is for organizations established by international treaties, or international databases.

Other Top Level Domains- . BIZ, .INFO, .NAME.

United States Only Generic Domains

.GOV - This domain was originally intended for any kind of government office or agency. Only agencies of the U.S. Federal government are in this domain. State and local agencies are registered in the country domains (see .US Domain, below).

.MIL - This domain is used by the US military.

Example of a Country Code Domain

.US - As an example of a country domain, the US domain provides for the registration of all kinds of entities in the United States on the basis of political geography, that is, a hierarchy of < entity-name>...US. For example, "ibm.armonk.ny.us". In addition, branches of the US domain are provided within each state for schools (K12), community colleges (CC), technical schools (TEC), state government agencies (STATE), councils of governments (COG), libraries (LIB), museums (MUS), and several other generic types of entities (see RFC 1480 for details [1]).

Others- .TO, .TV, CC.

A Note from the Internic

We prefer to register only one domain per 'organization'. If this domain is essentially for the same organization/purpose as one already registered, please provide information on why you need this domain under the "Brief Description of Company" section. If you are registering this domain on behalf of another organization, please have the "Organization Using Domain Name" section of the application reflect that organization's information, not yours.

For better retrieval and sorting, each record is usually organized as a set of data elements (facts). The items retrieved in answer to queries become information that can be used to make decisions. The computer program used to manage and query a database is known as a database management system (DBMS). The properties and design of database systems are included in the study of information science.

DNS - Stand for Domain Name Servers (DNS). All domains on the web are in reality a series of numbers called dotted quads (e.g. 192.168.1.1). These numbers must be converted to you domain name and you have to pay a yearly fee in order you use your name. Fees range from $12 to $35 per year. We provide names from a reputable registrar for $15 per year.

eMail - Electronic mail, abbreviated e-mail or e-Mail or email, is a method of composing, sending, storing, and receiving messages over electronic communication systems. Often these workgroup collaboration organizations may use the Internet protocols for internal e-mail service.

Flash - Since its introduction in 1996, Flash technology has become a popular method for adding animation and interactivity to web pages; several software products, systems, and devices are able to create or display Flash. GIFs - Stands for Graphics Interchange Format (GIF;*.gif extension). Gifs are a type of picture graphic format that is prominent on the Internet. A special feature of gifs is that they are very versatile. This format allows animation, and thus action graphics to catch the eye. This format also allows transparency. Transparency allows the picture to blend in with the background, something very useful in designing a web page look. Predominantly used for artwork alone, or artwork combined with pictures.

MPGs - This is another video clip format that lends itself well to use on the Internet.

MP3s - Stands for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 (mp3) It is more commonly referred to as MP3. It is the most popular digital audio encoding and lossy compression format, designed to greatly reduce the amount of data required to represent audio, yet still sound like a faithful reproduction of the original uncompressed audio to most listeners. It was invented by a team of European engineers who worked in the framework of the EUREKA 147 DAB digital radio research program, and it became an ISO/IEC standard in 1991.

PHP - Stands for PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP). It is an open-source, reflective scripting language. Originally designed as a high level tool for producing dynamic web content, PHP is used mainly in server-side applications.

Web Hosting - In order for a page to be "accessible" to the Internet, it must be physically stored on a server. The act of storing and dispensing a web page is web hosting. In actuality, it is an Internet account with disk storage space. You have to pay a yearly or monthly fee in order to host your website. Fees range from $8 to $35 per month. We provide hosting from a reputable hosting provider. Click here for fees.

Our Design Team

Our Design Team is committed to customer satisfaction. We realize that for our corporate clients, in particular, the Internet provides an opportunity for exposure to an immense and diversified audience. For this reason, having a Website that captures the true essence of your firm is invaluable to establishing an effective web presence. At Platinimbus.com Website Design, we understand all these factors and that is why we know the importance of putting in the effort to develop a site that is both extremely functional and aesthetically appealing.

We will take the time to work directly with you to analyze your company's structure, products and/or services, marketing strategy, market development, current and potential customer bases, and various other general and specific factors influencing the market environment in which your firm operates. Platinimbus.com Website Design offers a very comprehensive combination of services to address all your business needs, both for today and tomorrow!

Let our Design Team capture, define and promote your 'corporate identity' throughout the cyber-world to extol all you have to offer!

Outline of Procedures

Following is a basic outline of the procedure our Design Team will undertake on your business web project:

Strategic Development

In this initial phase, we will discover exactly what you want from our service. We will do a comprehensive review of all aspects of your company to define what your future goals are and translate those in terms of what sort of online exposure will help you attain them. By setting out a well-defined objective, we will be able to come up with something that is right for you.

Site Planning

To accommodate your needs, a consultant from Design Team can do a very thorough review of all your company's public information in order help you manage the transition from more traditional media to the realm of the Internet. From the resources you are able to provide, we will compose a new 'internet-ready' version of existing information on your company and its products/services. This will be published on the World Wide Web to enhance your company image in a global market.

Page Production

This stage is the 'dirty work' part of the whole design process where we will incorporate the content of your pages into graphical design and textual enhancement using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), and possibly JavaScript and CGI (Common Gateway Interface), depending on the requirements. Your site will also be augmented with navigational elements such as links, frames and buttons and your photos will be digitized for inclusion on the site. Once the page has been developed, it will undergo thorough testing and debugging to ensure proper functionality.

Client Appraisal

While we will be in constant contact with you throughout the entire design process, this is the stage where we will formally appraise your site. You will have the opportunity to suggest any changes you would like to make, and the necessary adjustments will be made until you are satisfied with our work. We want you be proud of your new site! However, we set the limit at 2 revisions.

Installation

Our Design Team has affiliations with several Internet Service Providers (ISPs). If you are looking for a home on the web, we can sign you up with any one of several ISPs that we recommend. Our Design Team has strategically aligned itself with the several Internet providers to supply a diversified base of distribution. If you already have a home on the web, we suggest that you compare your provider's prices and services with those offered by Platinimbus.com. Whether you purchase your web space from Platinimbus.com or another provider, your pages will be uploaded to the provider's server and we will register your site with the major search engines. This will in turn draw more traffic to your site and increase the visibility and profile of your company.

Website Maintenance

Because our Design Team is extremely 'service-oriented', we have devised a maintenance plan where new information can be added and changes made on an ongoing basis. Our Design Team will perform monthly maintenance on pages designed by our firm or from any other site.

Our service covers:

  • The checking of links to ensure that they are up to date and in working order.
  • The changing of a background or graphic images if the owner finds others they would like to use.
  • Periodic checks to make sure that any interactive 'forms' (CGI) or 'JavaScript' applications are in working order. (e.g. "mailto" links).
  • Basic browse testing to ensure that the site is navigable and provides a good medium for those who seek information at the given site. Usability studies are extra, as they entail many hours of research, testing, and analysis.

*If any additional services are to be performed, they will be based on our hourly fee*
