Pat "Paraquat" Kelley

The magnetic Patrick Kelley captured the imagination of the Los Angeles electronic media with his incisive reporting during his ten years with radio station KMET. He gained notoriety and his nickname "Paraquat" for his timely features on the government sponsored spraying of illicit marijuana crops which led to protest petitions of over 365,000 signatures and congressional action to warn and protect unsuspecting users of the poisoned substance. His program "News and Views" was an innovative way of making the news relevant to the younger point of view of the baby boom generation. In 1987 Dean engineered sessions for Pat's solo album at Muse Studios, Northridge, CA. Pat then signed on with KMPC/FM in 1988. Currently, Pat is in Southland real estate and is working as a screenwriter.
